I honestly think the Evatts, Buckinghams and the Murphy links are just red herrings.

If it turns out to be Purse I'd be tamping. Nothing against him personally but it would suggest Tan hasn't learned a damn thing. I haven't renewed my season ticket yet and the appointment of Purse would make me pause for thought.

Let's see. That would be the nail in the coffin for a lot of City fans. If he's gone through the charade of using consultants to only appoint those two then fans will be rightly up in arms and Purse would be on a hiding to nothing

Tan went through a charade of consultants and deemed some pretty experienced managers not good enough and went for Riza.

Credentials don't matter anymore, you just got to be at the right place at the right time, I think hiring external is just an inconvenience for Tan now, and he's not going down that path anymore.

I agree on Buckingham and Evatt- if Buckingham doesn't end up at Cardiff he will end up at Plymouth or Notts county
