Off you pop!' Liverpool legend takes extraordinary swipe at Cardiff City fans after Anfield clash

They probably didn‘t like the stick we give their wonder full back, great at set piece situations but can’t tackle and has the pace of a slug.

He’s just jealous because:
1- you couldn’t hear the Liverpool fans
3- he’s a long forgotten nobody
C- you’re just a shit Ian Rush, shit Ian Ruuuuuush!

Maybe he needs to speak to the steward who spoke in glowing terms about our fans.....like I said didn’t Aldridge play for Liverpool once

Not one of Aldridge‘s better games :hehe:

John Aldridge the Btech Ian Rush
He has always had a chip on his shoulder about is place in the Liverpool striker pecking order i reckon. I heard a story years ago from a landlord at a bar that Newport players used now and then, and apparently he could be a nasty piece of work.

I had a very enjoyable couple of days in Liverpool. It's a great city for a weekend. Very lively, great pubs open till 3:00 and excellent restaurants.
Fair play to the city fans. There was no obvious trouble all weekend and we certainly made a noise. It was good to see the note from the Liverpool steward, congratulating us on our behaviour.

But I agree with some of the Liverpool fans on their forums and to a certain the comments of John Aldridge in the Liverpool Echo. We are noisy, we are passionate but we lack class and we lack humour. When we sang "Mae hen wlad fy nhadau", it was powerful. Same with "I'll be there". The Ayahtolla is ours and the Kevin Mc song is great too. Towards the end we also gave a rendition of Three Little Birds. But I hate the Hymns and Arias version we sing - it's not only crude, it's just unfunny. Whenever Trent Alexander Arnold came near us - we responded with "Get your haircut, you scruffy cnut". Just unnecessary, unoriginal and not funny. There was a family with 2 young girls in front of me and you could see they were shocked and embarrassed. In fact one guy close to me couldn't open his mouth with saying cnut. We have very few songs which celebrate out individual players ( I can understand this to an extent - there aren't too many players to get excited about) and the ones we have are again just copies of other teams songs for their players.

Quite a few years ago, I went into Cardiff the night before the Liverpool, West Ham final. There were a bunch of Liverpool fans in the Cottage, they had funny, original songs for every player in the team. We don't have to look far for a good example to follow. When I follow Wales, we concentrate on songs which celebrate Wales and our team, rather than insult the opposition. We need more of that at Cardiff. :aya:

Sorry Colonel I have just seen the Aldridge thread. Merge if you want, but my point is a more general one. Cheers.

Yeah I agree with this. We’ve got a reasonable repertoire of songs but we desperately need some new ones. And get shot of that bloody hyms and arias one.
One of the big problems imo, at home games at least, is Vinces bloody drum.

Now I have nothing against him, he seems like a nice bloke when I’ve talked to him, and fair play for trying to do something to improve the atmosphere, but the big problem is that he only starts off the same 2-3 songs which we then sing a dozen times every match which becomes really boring.
The reason that we have great songs at Wales games is down to one thing, The Barry Horns. They have been brilliant, coming up with so many new songs and getting them going at matches.

I’m not saying we should have a band, but we do need some way of getting good songs into the Canton. We’ve got plenty of bright, clever witty fans that could knock out some good chants, we just need to get them to the lads that start things off in the middle blocks.

That's got to be something we can do on here. Get writing some chants, I'll chant them on the live stream and put up the lyrics and I can get them popularised on our Facebook group, there's 6,600 members on there now.

Did we get any contenders in the Song for Ralls thread?

I cringed at the Hymns and Arias shit. Makes us seem a bit desperate and obsessed. I'd like to see 'One man went to mow' back again. :aya:

I'm afraid he's blotted his own copy book, so to speak with having a stupid one syllable Christian name, the twat.

Goodness gracious Joe Ralls on Fire

Jo-seph Raaalllls.... Take me home :coat:
Nothing wring with that at all. The trouble is, things don’t always look good written down but they’re fine when they’re sung at the ground. Look at the Sol Bamba Xmas song. If someone had suggested that on a message board they would have been laughed off there,
You often get great suggestions on forums but they rarely seem to make it to the people that tend to get them started.

Jo-seph Raaalllls,
Take me home,
to the place,
I belong,
Cardiff City,
Home of the bluebirds,
Take me home, Joseph Ralls

See it’s as simple as that. Great effort. This is where Ali use to be great, he would play that Denver track at the game to try and get it going.
