Unlike the stars and celebs of Strictly who showed a genuine reverence for 'Poppy Day' at London stations as they wowed travellers with impromptu kicks and flicks for carefully-staged photo opportunities.
Stars included the brave Alexandra Burke whose partner has been nicked by 'our' Gemma of 'We are just a big together Northern family' fame. Burke said 'If your soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice, standing here for the cameras for two minutes is the least I can do'.
So heart-warming to see this outpouring of genuine emotion.
Not like the producers sat down months ago and brainstormed: 'What can we do for really cheesy but topical locations but for the new series'. I guess they drew the line at waltzing 'round the Cenotaph.
