Inception
The Martian

Avengers
Star Wars the last jedi
Mamma Mia
Spectre - a steaming pile of turd

Shape Of Water.

The most contrived, ill thought out steaming pile of shyte I've ever seen. Me and Mrs Europe were actually laughing AT it from about 25 minutes in. There must've been some serious backhanders for all the awards and incredible reviews.

The deer hunter
Apocalypse now
Fell asleep watching them, too long and drawn out.

Inception - loved
The Martian - liked
Shape Of Water. - havent seen
The deer hunter - great but definitely slow I agree
Apocalypse now - one of the best films ever made

:sherlock:

Annie Hall. The only time I've ever walked out before half time

Any Harry Potter film

Of the films I have seen mentioned above, I really like a lot of them. Shows how tastes differ.

Ive never really seen the appeal of James Bond films, I wouldn't say they're "crap" as such but not far off.

I cant stand musicals for some reason and whenever Ive tried, Ive had to turn them off after a bit. La La Land was in that category. Im told that Film Greatest Showman is good but I cant even try it cos I know the singing interruptions will boil my piss.

Grand Budapest Hotel and Hail Ceasar are other recent examples where I just closed the laptop after 20 mins.

Inception, for sure.
Most sequels / prequels

Ant Man
Avengers
Lord of the Rings - terrible, terrible, drawn out guff. Especially that third one, thought I was going to die of old age before it ever ended.

Can't agree on that! :nope:

The Hobbit and LOTR were required reading when I was young and even though it took me three years to read LOTR, I loved the books. A coupe of lame attempts had been made to put the stories on the screen, but Peter Jackson's epics were true to the books in every respect and hugely enjoyable, provided that you like Tolkein.

Coincidentally, TDA Jnr gave me a box set of The Hobbit recently and I had earmarked this evening to settle down with the third installment.

What with ITV's attempt to show one of the above at least once a week they'll soon become bore fests. Your above statement cannot be true. Proof: take a look at the spine of LOR (or it's different volumes) compare with the spine of The Hobbit and ponder how can one trilogy that required three films be as true to the original when The Hobbit which was only a two or three day read at most also required three films. Having seen what a money maker LOR was, it was decided to cash in and make a trilogy of the much smaller Hobbit so they had to add in a substantial amount of padding.

I wouldn't argue with that. I was thinking of LOTR rather than the Hobbit films. Even so, I still find that series far more entertaining than much of the crap that finds its way on to Netflix.

Eyes wide shut, was looking forward to it but dozed off watching it.
