Football POST MATCH FANS REACTIONS - AFC WIMBLEDON

It's a strange one. There's a lot of little things we did that were really impressive in general play but ultimately we didn't create enough goalscoring opportunities. I like the fact we're more comfortable on the ball around the opposition box but still get frustrated when we overplay it. I think we were the better team but Wimbledon had a few really good efforts and their fans must have been gutted to not at least get a point.

The kind of improvement we all wanted to see after Vale though and those three points will help morale and the belief that if you put the shift in you will get rewards.
I do agree

There were many times where I was screaming at the telly "someone just take a fucking shot"

2 shots on target the entire game is poor, even if one of them was handballed away by their centre half.

The next two league games will interesting, i’d imagine we’ll be able to create a lot more against teams that don’t just want to park the bus.

The overplaying is annoying. It’s not just the lack of shots, but also the lack of quality balls into the box. There were possibly two last night - one for Robinson’s header for sure, and maybe the early one for Salechs (which would have been ruled out). Other than that really poor on the few times we tried to get it in.

I think like for us this is all new to the players. Couldn't have really got off to a better start but the more we get results playing this way the better we'll get and that's when I'd like to think we become more decisive in and around the box.

Rome wasn't built in a day:thumbup:

Not giving the ball away is the bottom line. If there isn't a clear shot or chance of an effective cross, then recycle and probe for another opening.

It's not the tippy tappy Swansalona or Wales' football that I hate. This has far more purpose and the end result will come.

Agree. We’re not shot shy, it’s just difficult to get a clear chance when the opponent has 8 players in the penalty box, as is inevitable when you have as much possession as we’ve been having.

That is an issue. Teams are going to great lengths to stop R Colwill getting easy shots off

A good team will find a way to take advantage of that, especially as we have more firepower than just him

Refreshing to see us actually taking an attacking approach last night moved the ball well again with purpose sadly we still are not delivering into the box quick enough when given the opportunity .But what a contrast in our play we've seldom seen an attacking ethic be implemented even at home never mind away long may it continue. Some big decisions to be made by BBM in the next few games with Robertson and NG close to returning .Turnball didn't do his case for a starting place any harm last night .Tough game against Luton coming up one of the favourites for promotion so let's see if we can continue the feel good factor that's been so welcome after what's been a testing time for us recently .:bluebird:
