Post Match Reactions - Sunderland

Crikey get some right beauts on Twitter. Most not at the game I presume. Was much more solid after the subs.

[UWSL]Ju[/UWSL][UWSL]st couldn't get the balance right today with what players were available. There isn't much choose from is there, we have a shockingly thin squad with injuries to key players. [/UWSL]

[UWSL]I would never again have pick Ojo who plays as if there is no urgency to do anything. To pass, run, dribble, close a man down. The only time he started playing was when he realised his number was up. Ojo played as if he is too good a player to be used as a wing back. Gut-wrenching watching him don the number 10 shirt.[/UWSL]

[UWSL]No sicknote Colwill again I noticed. What a shame we based a transfer strategy around him Davies and Bagan:facepalm:[/UWSL]

Awful performance.

Sunderland weren't that great, but better by a country mile.

The substitutions were abysmal. Yes, Ojo wasn't playing well, and I can understand taking him off, but taking Philo off? Unless there was an illness in the squad, utterly ridiculous.

Sabri has repeatedly said Simpson isn't a LB or LWB - then brings him on as LWB rather than say Ralls. If he'd instead brought Simpson on for Ojo, played a back three of McGuinness - Kipre - Simpson with Ng and Romeo as WBs, you can at least see some semblance of sense behind the change.

Taking Philo off as well for Rino you can see as shoring up midfield but both changes removed any creativity we had.

The Davies sub was bonkers as well. He's not a wide player with an end product in terms of crosses, he's someone that can use his pace running at defenders - how was that going to work when they were defending deep, knowing we wee reduced to hoofing the ball into the box for two lumps?

Etete I'd though had improved previously, forming a partnership with Kaba, and I know it's his first game back but he and Kaba seemed to be training for Dancing on Ice. Wickham could do with losing at least a stone.

I still think we will stay up, maybe closer than needs to be, but I'd be surprised if Lamouchi is in charge next season. If Nathan Jones is still available, wouldn't be surprised to see he get a call.

We’re back to hoping that there’s three teams shitter than us again. Wigan and Blackpool look done so that just leaves one spot between us, Reading, QPR, Huddersfield and Rotherham.

I’m struggling to see it personally. We look disjointed and weak. Can’t remember the last time we came from behind to win a game. - Just checked and we haven’t done it once this season which speaks volumes. We’re weak as piss - go behind and we’re a beaten team. Some of those players don’t care either, you can see it in their body language. They’re probably already looking to see where they’ll be next season. Players aren’t daft - they know when a club is on its arse and that’s where we are at right now. A culmination of bad decisions by an owner that doesn’t know football but refuses to step back and let football men make the decisions. Appointing unqualified managers and expecting success is why we’re fighting relegation. Trying to do everything on the cheap is why we’re fighting relegation. Bringing in a whole new inexperienced team and expecting them to gel and show togetherness is why we’re fighting relegation. Creating a situation where we end up with four managers in one season is why we’re fighting relegation.

Sheffield Utd and Watford away up next - can you see us winning those because I can’t and I doubt if any of us can. Get nothing from those two and we’ll almost certainly be in the bottom three. That leaves us with four games to pull ourselves back out - something I don’t think our shit players have got the skill nor the attitude needed to do.

Genuinely think we’re done now unless we somehow get points from our next two.

Spoiled weekend.
