If you know which slaughterhouse your meat comes from then you're going to an expensive butcher. With a lot of local slaughterhouses having closed down I wouldn't put too much faith in any of them as Government inspectors are under resourced and under pressure to only stop production in the most extreme cases.

I accept there's a degree of hypocrisy to eating meat but I'm still going to do it.

You should be aware by now that although I eat meat I have a fairly meat light diet. One of the reasons is to do my bit (albeit a tiny bit) to help reduce the need for commercial livestock farming.

Then it follows that you would want the animals you do eat dispatched as painlessly as possible and if the religious way of doing it does indeed cause them more pain you'd prefer they didn't have to go through that, right?

I think keeping of animals to kill for food on a mass scale is cruel from.start to finish.

I'm quite sure the people who started this petition are only thinking of the animals though.

If you’re truly concerned, you’d start researching the provenence and slaughtering methods of all meat you ate imo
