I’ve been to the Madejski handful of times too including when we took about 6000 up there a few years back and to Elm Park years ago and I’ve never seen a sniff of trouble. Mind you I’m not the type that goes looking for it like.
It was 2000 when I went I think and it was kicking off everywhere but hooliganism was still pretty rife then. I can't recall hearing about any trouble there since so was surprised to see the police statement

Is it just they are using these tactics for or every club.
If it's just us why.
Do they have intelligence etc.
Give a dog a bad name.
Perphaps it's because some forums boast about previous bad behaviour and even selling books about it.
Trouble is if there is intelligence the police would be in trouble if they didn't take precautions.

But you would still have seen or heard about it.
Something must have sparked this for police to use these tactics.

Well it’s a relatively high profile game as we can seal promotion, and thanks to the ridiculous allocation they gave us there will inevitably be city fans going up without tickets and also trying to get tickets for the home end. That being said, it’s Reading not Swansea ffs

Thanes Valley Police did have a rep for heavy handedness and being OTT. Hope they didn't do what West Midlands police did for Two Aviv game and rely on AI to analyse risk.

Yeah, nobody is buying the "oh we used AI" defence, tbf.

WMP were shitting themselves over a certain excitable demographic turning up looking to attack Jews.

I remember a League Cup game at Elm Park, we lot on I think penalties - Craig Middleton missing. Bloody cold, their hoolies (all looking about 12-13) rattling a door ("GRR, IF ONLY THE DOOR WASN'T IN THE WAY WE'D HAVE YOU!") whilst conveniently ignoring the fact the fence door was attached to was at most 2 feet tall.

So it’s the same scenario as midweek where if we win and Stockport drop points we’re up? Or is a win good enough? Not hopeful either way if I’m honest, can’t see us getting a result there

They need to be perfect and we'd need to not get another point and blow a goal difference advantage of about 20

You say that like it’s a feat that we’re incapable of :hehe:

I remember my brother coming home from Hillsborough in tears after we fucked it up there in the 08/09 season. One of my earliest memories of Cardiff actually. I think my old man could be done for child abuse for forcing this club on me :hehe::hehe:

I notice Bradford and Bolton have early kick off's, be nice to have a bit of good news there before kick off

Stockport could well end up battering Exeter
Bolton are gone. They have to win all their games and make up a +15 goal difference and hope we lose all our games.

I didn't go to that game as watching Cardiff rugby in European Cup semi final (Champions league equivalent) where they managed to lose in a penalty shootout which is incredibly rare in top level rugby. Only Cardiff could pull off that double whammy

Chose the egg over the city?

Knew it.

Sheffield is a fucking trek mun and I'd already been to Hillsborough. Would have bought the tickets in advance of knowing it was a crunch game for the City

They made 4 up on us the other day and anyway as you were quick to point out to me the other day, I'm only saying what could happen

In the Doomsday scenario, our goal difference would disappear no problem - we would be constantly losing at least one and Stockport would be gaining one, so the swing would be at least 2 each game.

Stockport aren't so bad, they'd have to make up 4 goals a game on us but Bolton's 15 goals isn't beyond possible
