ROLLUP, ROLLUP it's FOURCAST - 2024/25 Season - Round 1 Guesses

As the new season approaches, I am really pleased to say that FOURCAST will be running again this season. The rules are the same. The format is the same. The only difference is that, instead of being smoothly run by @TDA , it will now be run less smoothly by me. Just think of me as Les Dennis to TDA's Bob Monkhouse.

The rules are the same. So too is the scoring.

Now for the copied and pasted bit.

With each round of Championship fixtures, there will be a maximum of 20 points up for grabs and all you have to do is make four predictions.

Five points awarded for each spot on guess, but reduced points will still be earned for close guesses.

For each set of 12 games you have to predict the following.

• Number of goals scored
• Number of penalties
• Number of corners
• Number of all cards

To enter, just add your four guesses in a single post below. Guesses cannot be changed once posted.
Entries will need to be in by 12pm on Saturdays, or by 7pm on Tuesdays if we have midweek fixtures.

I will aim to remind regular punters about their obligations prior to the deadline.

My understanding is that @Melvin Udal is the current, reigning champion.

So, for any of the shy ones that are lurking in the shadows here - I would love it if you beat him this season. LOVE IT! In all other cases, I remain impartial.

Oh, and let's keep these threads clean. There's loads of places where we can talk nonsense, I should know, but it would make my life a lot easier if these threads were predominantly about predicting the future, like the heterosexual Russell Grants that we all are.

And, with Jupiter setting in Sagittarius, together with Uranus spinning in Virgo, I make these bold predictions.

PENALTIES = 3
CORNERS = 119
CARDS = 48

It's that easy. My predictions have now been entered into the FOURCAST computer - called Earnie and, unless you want me to win, I'd suggest you get your predictions in before 7pm Friday 9th August.

Marathon not a sprint so bring your A game everyone.

Hope for more of a challenge this season as opposed to the canter I won at last time out.
