Well, if public perception is more important than reality, there's a major disconnect. Prosecution couldn't convince the jurors to give a unanimous verdict, couldn't convince a majority of the jury.

I'd not be surprised if there were no re-trial.

Silly thing to say.

Prosecution failed to get a decision on any of the three charges. Claimant has major credibility issues, including evidence of her doing the same things she accused Giggs of, trying to hide evidence from the police, staging a photo. I'm surprised CPS feel there's a reasonable chance of conviction.

Prosecution need to prove beyond reasonable doubt. Defence need to prove nothing, just point to the reasonable doubt.

Don't get me wrong, no fan of Giggs whatsoever.
