It was a shit show to begin with and has somehow managed to get worse each year.
It's obviously not the technology, it's the inept officials in charge of it.

Better to have 1 ref/2 linesman making shit decisions on the pitch rather than a team of them behind the scenes fucking everything up.

Completely agree. If they managed to restrict it to "clear and obvious errors", as they were supposed to do originally, it might be OK. Perhaps they need a time limit: if they can't tell definitely that a decision is wrong given 30 seconds or a minute, they just defer to the ref/lino.

And the way they’ve moved the goal posts (hurr hurr) about what it’s meant to be used for. I said when it was brought in that it would end up exactly like the tmo in rugger where the refs have come to rely on it for almost every single decision and so it’s proving.
If there was a vote by registered fans / season ticket holders of every club in the country about whether or not to keep it, it would be history.

Deferring to the ref is one of the reasons it’s become a farce. If a couple of blokes in a studio with the benefit of HD quality super slow motion replays from several different angles can’t make a decision, why do they expect the ref, standing on the side of the pitch in all kinds of weather in front of tens of thousands of fans to? It’s all just a load of stupid bollocks and needs to be scrapped asap.

Agree that sending him to the screen is performative nonsense.

Another load of nonsense is how linos don't give offside decisions in real time any more but wait for the machine to tell them to put the flag up, when they are inevitably fucking miles away from where the offside occurred.
