I'd have to differ with you there. Never anything original, just Oasis and Stereophonics covers. It is would a chance for some new bands to try out their stuff but there's little chance of that. Lowest common denominator stuff.Don't see the bands very often as tend to dash in last minute. When I do they're usually quite good and very popular but that'll be ahead of the bigger games so not representative. I guess you'll get the odd shit one - good way to help out local bands though

I don't doubt that at all but still good to give local bands a chance. Realistically it's only going to be shitty and cover bands interested in it.I'd have to differ with you there. Again I disagree. Personally I'd think the last thing the Cardiff music scene needs is another band doing the most mind blowingly obvious covers. And there are plenty of local bands who'd jump at the chance of performing in front of several hundred people. John MOuse for example would have them eating out the palm of his hand and he's at every home game anyway so I'm sure he'd love to do it. However, I suspect that most people are happy with the stuff they're served up - as I said lowest common denominator.I don't doubt that at all but still good to give local bands a chance. The crowd sings along to the City songs. Anyone can slip a few of those into their set without making their whole set covers. The idea is to get the crowd up for it before the match and singing along to the bands and the way to do that is through cover versions of songs they know unfortunately.

Not sure most of the crowd are interested in the bands at all. There's usually about 50-60 around the stage. The rest are either disinterested or else, like me, trying to put as much distance between them and the band as possible. Not sure people would be interested in some band playing shit nobody knows.

If it wasn't lowest common denominator then it probably wouldn't go down that well at a football stadium let's be honest. A lot of the audience will pissed up and not there to see the band. Their job is to get pissheads and kids in the mood to create some atmosphere. Cutting edge troubadours playing their own tunes and lyrics would probably get booed off stage. I like your vision I just don't think it's that realistic personally.Again I disagree.
