WO aren't exactly the bastion of journalism we'd like but they've made multiple articles so far based on us being linked with him which I don't remember them doing for anyone else to this extent prior to the signing being imminent/at a medical stage. Add that to the Reading journal stating we were interested and the usual iTk types on Twitter to me makes them strong rumours.

As tidy as he was last year we need better than Wintle if we’re going to do anything next season.
The fact that we’re happy to let him go tells me that we’re confident of bringing in quality.
I think we have a few players in a similar position. Memories are short and with the blue-tinted glasses, we think we have a team to rival prime Barcelona. In reality, we have a team of players relegated from the championship a year ago, with a few kids and a goalie thrown in. I think Tan will need to invest a lot if we want to avoid hovering around the relegation places.

What do you mean by ‘strong’ rumours? I really don’t understand that phrase.
A strong rumour to me is something that's gotten decent traction in multiple different types of media, not just a couple people on Twitter making stuff up.

Get ready for the onslaught of comments of club lacking vision and not prepared to splash the cash.Wintle had an outstanding season in league one and as we know the modern day players are money driven ,and it's a short career so who is really surprised .One can only imagine that Wintle's demands weren't to city's valuation so there's the door .We are bigger than any one individual and I'm sure BBM has looked into that this will happen and will act accordingly .It's a savage world players contracts and this happens .Hope we go for Ballard now he would be ideal.

To me it’s just multiple places repeating the same rumour that almost certainly came from one source which is probably no more than speculation anyway. There is every possibility that we have absolutely no interest in him.

Wintle was extremely good this season in league one. My opinion is he would struggle in the championship and wouldn’t be satisfied being a bit player…which is very understandable.
My worry is that Ng not be affected by wintle leaving because Ng was overall disappointing our relegation season when wintle, his good friend, was loaned out. It was kind of clear it affected Ng.
I feel it’s extremely important we lock up Bagan very quickly and I’m sure it’s being worked on. Clearly BBM is recruiting another DM or 2.

We absolutely dodged a bullet by not extended his contract this season.
One good season out of 5 at the club and that was in division 3. He would do well to find a decent League 1 team to join next season. As the previous 4 seasons have shown, he below average at Championship level.
