Although most city suburbs, by their nature, don’t have clearly defined boundaries, I’ve always thought of Splott being south of the railway tracks.

In my head Splott starts around Carlisle.St...The first couple of streets over the black bridge are still Adamsdown...Cumrae St etc and ends at the railway bridge on Moorland Rd. Once you go under that you're in Tremorfa. It also ends at Newport Rd the other way. Other side is Roath. In my head anyway.

Also the top of Queen St is by the castle and absolutely not Newport Rd end.

It's Splott in my head. It is debated. Roath is other side of Newport Rd and down to where Popeye shit has pants and up to the Rec. It's Pen Y Lan after that going back up the hill.

When I lived around that way there was a discussion one Sunday afternoon in the Canadian, got a bit heated at one point The general consensus was Splott ended at Bersesford Road bridge.

Some right nonsense being talked on here.
I was brought up off Clifton Street, went to school in Metal Street and it was fairly simple.
Splott didn't start until you crossed Splott bridge and the railway line was the boundary. North of Clifton Street (Metal Street, Tin Street, Gold Street etc) was Adamsdown and south of it (Sapphire, Emerald, Pearl etc) was Roath. Broadway has never been Splott.
Later on they complicated it by bringing in Plasnewydd and other made up bollocks.
