Cardiff v Newport: What do you reckon the outcome will be?

I made no secret of my contempt for this cup before the game but it's not great when we played quite a few first teamers and got fairly beaten by a proper shite team
For what it's worth though how good can 4-5 first teamers on the pitch be when they're surrounded by academy players?

It was noticeable at the end when they were trying to get something to happen that they most often passed between themselves.

Some halfwit got himself a ban for running on the pitch just after the goal too. He barely got as far as the six yard box before he was brought down by four stewards. What a fucking dunce.
You'd take a ban at that point wouldn't you

I get that but the spine of the team was solid and even if it was Newport's first team we shouldn't have looked so shit. Hopefully the kids got something out of it because the first team squad didn't

Honestly I just saw it as a nothing game. Some cardiff fans over reacting about not taking a derby seriously, but if our fan base cant be arsed to go then why should our players care

It is a nothing game but the players should care as they're being handsomely paid or are youngsters given a chance to progress and develop. Also in the circumstances that's a good crowd

The people overreacting clearly have deeper issues

We were playing against some hard nosed professionals. The youngsters who were coming in with little experience were always going to struggle.
Unfortunately they learned the hard way

Because it's the career they chose? :hehe:

Thanks:thumbup:

I watched turnbull closely yesterday, and he offers fuck all to this team. Constantly losing the ball.

Was very disappointed with him yesterday - he should have been like a Rolls Royce against that level of opposition. I did think he was effective on Saturday TBF but been really disappointed with the quality of his shooting this season

Record breaking night, but City have not played well at home for almost six weeks.

Lethargic senior players help make it a comfortable night for Newport.

I agree with your comment about Tom Davies. I was surprised when he left City as I always felt that he had as much if not more potential than Joel Bagan. I understand though he wanted first team football.

A strange but memorable night. Memorable because of the two children who had their 1st teams debuts last night. I would wager a fare bit, that both Robert Tankiewicz and Axel Donczew will become players at the highest level and those of us that were there will look back on the night we first saw them. And course, it's all the more remarkable because of the ages and backgrounds of both players. Tankiewicz might hold the record for the shortest time a player has held the "youngest ever player" tag at Cardiff (and possibly any other pro club). And remarkable because both Rob and Axel have dual Wales / Poland qualification. I hope both go on to choose Wales and become Welsh stars for years to come. But another debutant also caught the eye - TJay Parfitt (himself only 17) also looked a great prospect. Although, he might have been a bit braver going forward, his defensive qualities and his pace really stood out. And he was also not playing in his usual position of centre back. We need to get all 3 of these tied down, so the big clubs don't get them for peanuts. My MOM was Will Fish, who once again sent a message suggesting he should always be on the team sheet. :aya:

I liked the look of Parfitt. Pacey, strong and fucking massive.

Nobody comes to work to watch me but it doesn't stop me doing a good job.

He's never really fitted into our team/Club/style of play. Had a couple of good performances this season but apart from that not good enough I'm afraid. Didn't he cost £3 million?

Dunno. Had a million in my head but try and convince myself it was a free transfer. He's slower than a week in jail
