Cost of living

Mrs and my nipper love the place :shrug2:
Give Ansh a try in Canton, probably the best burgers I’ve tried. Again, not cheap but they’re small, independent restaurant and the quality of their grub is brilliant.

It’s a disgrace and some think we should be letting them pay lower corp tax

Yeah, it would be awful if their profits were only half of this next year. They wouldn't be able to "invest" in ways to make energy cheaper so that their profits could drop even more. People swallow this. "Oh no, if their profits drop, they'll put the prices up again".

Water rates up 10% :nope:

Have any of you gone to a water meter? I just checked with Welsh Water, and the "calculation" which was little more than "how many people live in your house, and do you use hosepipes" claims I'd save 40 quid a month.

But, would I have to pay for sewage charges on top, or is that all in? And if you have a water meter, how much do you pay? I'm being quoted £730 for my pad using the old style.

We’ve got a meter - pay about £40 a month but that’s just me and the missus. As a general rule if there’s only one or two of you then you’ll probably save money. If it’s a family household, or you’ve got a swimming pool/hot tub, use the bath a lot then don’t do it because it’ll cost you more.

Let’s be honest, when do these fuckers ever genuinely care about saving the customer money

Welsh Water “ NoT 4 ProFIt “

But we’ll dump your squirts into rivers and not bother fixing huge leaks

Cheers Doc, that water calculator was a lot more detailed than the Welsh Water one, and it looks like I'd save some money, but not enough to take the gamble.

Stick with what you’ve got and leave the taps running all day to get your money’s worth.

Ok, first world problems but I took the Mrs out for Sunday lunch just now.
Now bear in mind this was a pub ok?
£16 for a beef dinner, the Mrs wanted lamb “oh, just do you’re aware, the lamb doesn’t come with a Yorkshire pudding so if you want one it’s extra”
TWO FUCKING QUID! For a Yorkshire puddings!
Add a pint of doom bar for me and a Coke for her, and I came home £42 lighter!

Absolute piss take
To be honest a Sunday lunch bill, with wine and a couple of pints with me and my missus averaged about £50 anyway.

Where’s decent for a Sunday dinner now anyway?
Best I’ve had is The Clink, which is shut now and the Six Bells in Peterstone, which has been shut for about 4 years.

We go to the blue Anchor, that's stunning Sunday dinner.
If you and the missus ever want to join us let me know

Can you imagine how weird that would be for the women?
