Some great singers past and present. Who do you really enjoy listening to...?

I enjoy quite a few, but will start with

For me, Ronnie James Dio.

Robert Plant is probably my favorite but there's quite a few worthy of mention.

The Muse singer has some mad pipes on him

Jay Buchanan from Rival Sons. Proper goosebumps when I saw them live.

Not the best known band but if you’re a fan of 70s hard rock/blues then give them a listen.

Vocally I’d put him up there in my top 10.

Kurt Cobain

Haters need not reply
He doesn’t get much credit vocally and for me Nirvana were never my thing.

However the stripped back mtv unplugged thing was fantastic.

Impossible to pick one but here’s my ten (no order)

Ronnie James Dio - Rainbow/Sabbath/Dio
Eddie Vedder - Pearl Jam
Paul Rodgers - Free/Bad Company
Jay Buchanan - Rival Sons
Layne Staley - Alice In Chains
Chris Cornell - Soundgarden/Audioslave
Steven Tyler - Aerosmith
Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac
Robert Plant - Led Zeppelin
Jim Morrison - Doors

Actually the whole mtv unplugged thing from that era was pretty special. Every now and then I’ll get a Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains unplugged song thrown into my playlist and I’ll just stop what I’m doing and listen in admiration at just how good it is.

I often wonder if those kids who got to see those being filmed were aware at the time of just how special it was?

Stevie Nicks is by a country mile my favourite singer, but rock?

Pure rock singer? How in the living hell did you miss out Bon Scott???

Yep Fleetwood Mac are rock. Stevie’s got a fantastic rock voice.

Love Ac/Dc Bon Scott era but not traditionally a great vocalist imo.

Anyway it’s my list, not Rolling Stone. Put your own list up mun. It’ll still be loads better than Grahams.

Ok then.

Stevie Nicks
Bon Scott
Brian Johnson
Dave Gilmour
Robert Plant
Karen Carpenter
Donald Fagen

Meatloaf could bash it out like

Stevie Nicks?

You started it.

Personally I wouldn’t have labelled her as a rock singer, but she is a fucking awesome singer, and has been the soundtrack of my life. She’s awesome. Voice, style. Complete package

Agree. Just a totally unique tone and sound. Equally as good with the rock stuff (go your own way) as the softer sound (Landslide).

I’d let her sit on my face too.

Paul Rogers....
Oh and Cilla Black and Will Young:thumbup:
