Labour MPs know full well Greens, Reform are the trendy new toys for voters. Starmer's "I'm a grown up! Process! Forensic!" bs has worn thin. 11 times in his statement today he repeated "I wasn't told". When MPs repeatedly asked the salient question "When did you ask about the vetting?", the response were always evasive. "I asked about the process..." - NO, THAT WASN'T WHAT YOU WERE ASKED.
Public see that, see that he's no better than those he replaced - although arguably he is worse, because he claimed he wanted to bring honesty, integrity and transparency back.
WIth the majority they have, you'd have expected some defence from his MPs. He got little of note - yes "yeah but Tories" and "Reform crypto dodgy money".
Ollie Robbins is giving testimony tomorrow. Starmer said he didn't want to say too much about Robbins due to that and then threw him under the bus. Will be an interesting watch.

just watched the catch up of parliament today, oh my god, kemi done starmer big time, even diane abbott stuck the boot in together with a load of prominent back benchers.

I’m not a huge fan of Starmer but we cannot keep changing Prime Ministers every 18 months ffs. As it goes I genuinely don’t think he’s a liar either, but what I can’t quite understand is why that civil servant withheld the result of the vetting. No one seems to be asking that simple question. What motivated that decision?
The guy who was sacked wasn't appointed when Mandy given role. Likely political pressure to give him the job. Not a good look
Starmer was asked to wait in November until they could vet Mandelson in January but chose to appoint him on the 20th of December so regardless it was his decision to overrule everybody anyway. he would be gone tomorrow but whoever stepped in would be in the shit in may when they get decimated in the elections so the reality is he is on borrowed time until May 8th. this would be a 200 pager if it was that other prick boris
I don't think he'll see the next election but not sure he'll be ousted too soon. I know senior politicians are all power hungry but the job is a proper shit sandwich at the moment
Wipeout in the local elections will lead to him being gone ASAP. Any new leader would have to have time to turn things around.

All a load of nothing really, as shit as these lot have been, they're still miles better than the last decade or so. Unfortunately they're the best of a very shite bunch
