Maybe the police who arrested him….

Wrong.

That’s his opinion and he’s entitled to it.

People have different opinions on this stuff. That how life works.

If you want people to accept your view then explain it. If people then disagree that’s their prerogative.

Last time I checked it’s not a crime to have a different opinion and make tongue in cheek comments about it. If it was then most of us on here would be down the local station - including you.
Yeah well, see that’s the problem. Like it or not, transphobia is covered under the equalities act, the same act that covers age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

I wonder if we can get Kiffa arrested for a hate crime for every time he calls Nuggles a fat cunt?

No?

Correct.

And do you know why?

Because he’s just taking the piss.

And being truthful

Just posting this for the Doc as he liked it last time :hehe:

As it should be.

Certain sections of society need protection.

However last time I checked you’re still allowed an opinion on those things. As it should be.

Case in point: Plenty of comedy types poke fun at religion. A bit like the bloke who just got arrested. Made his name mocking the catholic faith. Bloody funny it was too.

Pretty sure he wasn’t actually labelling catholic priests as simpletons, drunks, perverts and Nazis though was he?

Although….

Reading these last few pages it seems that @Eat Y'self Fitter is even struggling to justify this really. He's still prepared to try though, even though his wing man seems to be absent.

Trans people really don't help themselves in all this and their protectors probably make things worse, especially when they all seem happy enough to try and talk over and ignore real reasonable concerns.

Maybe instead of gifs you could actually use your words?

The sad part is that you posting that insinuates that I’m missing the point when actually it’s you.

I’ll spell it out for you - it wasn’t a call for violence. He wasn’t saying people should be punching trans people. He was making a tongue in cheek comment. They used to be called jokes.

I’ll tell you what then? If you genuinely believe that this is a hate crime, transphobia, incitement to violence or whatever then put your money where your mouth is. Personally I’m confident that this will never get near a court of law as it’s nothing more than the police being used for propaganda to try and scare people into speaking out about what is a contentious subject.

I’ll chuck down £50 to a trans charity of your choice if this bloke gets charged with anything. Never mind a conviction, just a charge.

You can match my donation if you want and if he doesn’t get charged then you can donate it to somewhere else. Or just donate it to the same trans charity if you want?

Up to you.

Well one of you is going to get a kick in the balls......can I say that

I don't think he'll be charged with anything either as it happens, so I won't bother taking the bet.

I used the gif because, and I keep saying it, he was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence, not because of the views he holds.
It was a direct response to this...

You think it was a joke, as do many others, but it's still why he was arrested.

Therein lies the problem of having "protected characteristics", basically anyone who isn't a straight white male gets preferential treatment, not exactly the "equality" the act suggests is it?

Suspicion of inciting violence is the key part here.

If he’d come out and said “we should kill all these trans perverts” then fair enough.

If he’d come out and said “we should punch trans people in the face” then fair enough.

He didn’t though. He used the line about about ‘her balls’ deliberately to highlight the absurdity of it all.

The bigger question should be why they went there to arrest him?

Presumably somebody reported a crime? Or was it pressure from somewhere to make an example of him? Maybe the police can explain what led up to him being arrested as soon as he touched back down on British soil like some wanted fugitive?

Either way I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this.

Even though I’m obviously in the right…

We don’t need protecting though because we get everything.
