Anybody have any experience of this?

Stats below suggest after the initial outlay*, bills come down by 60% and is a much greener and more efficient way to heat the home

*About £10k for the HP plus 2k for radiator upgrades. The outside unit is probably about 1m high and I wouldn't call it beautiful but not ugly either. Mix of new rads of underfloor heating

With my last move I inadvertently managed to cut my heating bills by 60% and it was down to replacing my double glazing with 1" gap DG.

A major factor behind this was not having any chimneys and of course adequate loft insulation. It seems that the heat coming off the television keeps the house quite warm with central heating required only on the coldest of days.

Chimneys are good, they let the house breathe, I worked in lots of new builds where to meet regs the dwellings are pressure tested and must be air tight, the people living in these places often complain about condensation and mould spores in the house.
