Restaurants in Cardiff

Not a restaurant but a cafe. Beppy”s in Llandaff North shut down the best part of a year ago and I was told that thankfully it was being reopened as a cafe rather than a bloody vape shop or tattoo parlour.
I walked past yesterday morning and rather than some builders eating bacon sandwiches there was a bloke with a beanie hat and a beard on his laptop drinking a fucking latte.
On the plus side I had a quick look outside to see where he’d parked his Penny farthing but it look like it had been nicked.

I'm not surprised. That's a remake. The original was recorded in 1976 by Randy Crawford.

Miss Crawford's voice is far superior, but I prefer the arrangement of the cover.

Also, what was it with Preacher Men or the sons of, which got them all the chicks in the 70s?

Half the car park is outdoor seating as well, I bet nobody has sat outside since October
I heard this in a St Mellons accent

Aff the cah pahk iz out door seatin az well I bets no body az sat outzide since October like

I popped in for a nose around for the first time since it reopened the other day. "Cafe Artiste" it's called now, the poncey name suits the poncey pricing because it cost me £2.90 for a small coffee that I discovered didn't even have milk in when I got home.

Considering how long it was closed for refurbishment, not a lot has changed in there. New till area, tables and chairs, a lick of paint and some nonsense on the walls and hey presto, whack up the price for a bacon buttie.

I thought they would have at least knocked the two dining rooms into one but no, it's still like the downstairs of a house in there, front room, back room and kitchen. While my coffee was being made I had a little nose in the back room and there was a curtain sectioning it off and it was just full of tools and stuff in there so I guess they're not quite finished doing whatever they're doing.

Milkwood is the best breakfast in Cardiff I’ve had in Pontcanna.

Brava nearby is lovely apparently but can’t ever get in there. Joes Cafe is lovely too.

Pontcanna stretches all the way up to the old pickle factory in Ely.

So which part of Ely is Joe's?

A proper thread for restaurants and eateries in and around Cardiff.

We've skirted around the topic a bit on here so I thought it might be good to have a proper dedicated thread which I'll kick off now with a sublime recommendation.

Culley's restaurant at the Coal Exchange has been mentioned on here before and today me, the missus and the little 'un went to give it a go.

Lovely place, nicely decorated and not too busy today.

Me and the missus went for the £12 a head Sunday Roast which was absolutely delicious, easily the best Sunday dinner I've ever eaten. Gorgeous meat, perfectly cooked veg and lovely gravy.

Service was a bit slow considering that it wasn't busy but the food is absolutely 10 out of 10.

The little 'un went for the burger and fries which looked great and she enjoyed very much. We all opted for the chocolate brownies for dessert which also was lovely.

In total with our drinks and my cappuccino the bill came to £62 and was worth every penny. Great surroundings and great food.

Restaurants in Cardiff are ethereal. They open on a Monday and close down by Friday.

Went to Laguna on Greyfriars Place earlier and chowed down on this sucka.

Absolutely lovely stuff.
