Interview didn't inspire any confidence.
Frustratingly, the media are following the line that he is the first manager since 1958 to get us to a World Cup.
They are letting Page get away with using lazy modern manager buzzwords, saying that we are in "transition", which is just a cover to buy time in a period when getting shit results.
Yes we would be in an acceptable "transition" if we were bringing through new players, playing a different tactical set-up etc., but we are not, we are playing with the same faces Page favours time and again, only with less apparent squad depth (as we are seeing nobody new being brought into the fold)
It's interesting that Bulut comes in to Cardiff and immediately realises Ramsey and Colwill are 10's. Yet Page will persist in using Ramsey in a deep midfield or box-to-box role.
Yeah I think he's a nice chap Rob Page, and was wise enough to sort a basic enough system to get us to the World Cup, but since then it has not been a soft transition.
Having said all that, we are a team with a piss poor midfield (even though Ampadu looks alright for Leeds?), no real goalkeeper. Centre backs who need a big pick me up season... and players in attacking positions that have had "potential" for years but haven't kicked on.
But I can't help but feel someone could come in and get something better out of what we have.
