The problem for police and CPS is that the evidence is that the ex is incredible devious and manipulative; the text messages slaughter their case.

1) Claimed cancerous cells found in smear test when she actually had her coil removed. Slept with Giggs after that - trying to trap him with a baby. As they had no kid and weren't married, them splitting meant she'd get precisely zero. "I'm going to get something out of this" (paraphrasing).

2) The photo op she used to show bruising. Text messages showed it was set up - her and a mate were talking about the money they could make. Ex then whines the "prick" of a photographer used a photo that showed her looking rough; a further message had her saying that "the photo worked in her benefit as it didn't look staged" (again, paraphrasing).

3) Claiming bruising that she explained to friends was "caused by rough sex" was really domestic violence, she only said that to cover up. A text sequence showed her talking to Giggs about handcuffs and he'd bought a paddle... another sequence had her referring to "bruised knees" and "carpet burns on her back" - "a good session".

4) There was also as seems usual for women in cases, her losing two phones and refusing to give police full access claiming business contacts were in there and she didn't trust the police.

Plenty of other stuff in there too, I just don't get how police and CPS even decided to take this to court. There are just so many contradictions on her side that it's difficult to establish her as a credible person.

That said, he's clearly a grade A fuckwit after any pussy he sees.

The CPS don't bring cases to trial that they expect to lose.

Agree but that then indicates a lack of preparedness or even looking at the messages. The ex was evasive in allowing police access to her synced messages (seem to recall at one point it being accepted things had been deleted), outright contradicts herself in many places, admits to staging a photo and lied about having cancerous cells! At some stage someone within CPS has to look at that and seriously question her credibility.

Another incident was that she was scared when Giggs sent her a message with an attachment, subject "BLACKMAIL". She believed it was a sex video, told police that - which police believed. The attachment turned out to be a video of her drunkenly dancing, clothed, at a party. It was fairly clear the subject was a joke...

There's just nothing there that screams she's credible. Her own comments damn her.

I'm not saying Giggs is a saint, he's clearly emotionally immature but the case against him is weak. I'd be surprised if the jury convicted - maybe not if they have 12 Man City fans as jurors.

Next week will probably be the summing ups. The ex and Giggs have both already testified - the serious stuff would already have come out. Maybe some more of the text messages may come up, maybe some more character witnesses for Giggs but the case is winding down.

Hate to even have to clarify, I don't condemn controlling behaviour nor domestic violence. I condemn false allegations equally.
