It’s that time of year where we remember Emiliano, my daughter has asked me to request we all sing a song for Sala on Saturday at CCS:bluebird:

One surreal day that was. Still gives me goosebumps reading that tread.
Prophetic post from @Norris Cole

Yeah fingers crossed I don’t think Sala would be on a piper Malibu plane although if there anything very unfortunate to happen to any player that a club has just spent fortune on would the club get its money back? or would we have to fork out another 15 mill to buy a replacement? :shrug2: Just a thought.

Tbh it was a poor attempt, sang once, kind of finished as quick as it started.

yes I know on field events didn’t help with Salech and Paul Howard killed the atmosphere but as a Cardiff Fan I feel we let Sala’s memory down yeaterday

Controversial opinion, but I find it a bit cringe to be honest.
It was tragic of course, and we were right to show support at the time, but one minute it’s “you’ll always be at city with me” and in the next breath going to court to say he wasn’t our player.

So will there be an attempt on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th anniversary, till time immemorial?

It's a tragedy, more as TH63 said, a bit cringe. Over time there becomes an element of to what extent tribute is being paid to pay tribute or to look good for doing so.

What happened was terrible and must be horrendous for his family but I also feel its all a bit cringe - none of the fans ever saw him in person

I think you’re being daft.

"This is roving reporter SnoopyStrorm giving you the exlusive view of Sala's mum on the disgraceful refusal of the CCFC crowd to sing for Sala, you can only read it here on CardiffCityForum.com, folks!

Mrs Sala seventh anniversary of your son's tragic death. Many City fans, my daughter and I in particular were DISGUSTED with the disrespect shown to your son yesterday. Any thoughts, exclusively for CardiffCity.com?"

"Que?"

I agree with TH, the club has fought tooth and nail to say he wasn’t our player

That's not what the cases were about.

PFA refused to pay death benefits to family as he wasn't registered. Each case needed to be pursued to establish the correct venue - was transfer completed? Is it a sporting issue, civil or criminal case? Long journey, once it was established transfer complete, we had the steer of how to go after Nantes.
