Quick question to all city fans, are we in the bracket these days of only singing when we're winning?
I'm just thinking back, to some grim days at Ninian Park, where the sometimes handful of fans, would still be singing at 3-0 down!
Have we got " softer" fans these days, who fall into the category mentioned above? Yes we have some dire football over the years, but I loved the days when we'd sing, regardless of the dross on the pitch.
Have the newer breed of fans been spoilt with relatively good years watching, or do they just not like singing support these days 🤔

Always singing.

As one of the small handful down the Ninian I would say yes , a softer fan base but times change and football has changed and not for the better

Sit down and no swearing please. You must think about who might be offended so no chants until you're off the club premises please. In the meantime remain docile, check your privilege and have a conformant day.

When Riza had a winning run we had good atmosphere. Our fanbase will react to what's on the pitch but won't provide at atmosphere regardless. Ninian Park had plenty of no atmosphere games despite the mythology.

Football demographics have changed and people drinking less before the game doesn't help nor does the seemingly random times we get that are shit for match going fans. The tepid football for a good while is the main factor and we have a generally dispirited fanbase at the moment.

We were usually singing "Sack the board/manager" when 3-0 down though. :hehe:

I was at Ninian for all the 90s. Apart from "Come on City" at kick-off or "Bluebirds" at corners, there would be barely any singing.

For every Leeds game at Ninian Park there were 20 Rochdale games. It was a myth.

One man went to mow used to get an outing every now and then early 90's.

Thought we were good value in the Prem, even when getting hammered.

If we had some feel good even off the pitch, there'd be much more for us to back, but it's very hard to be enthusiastic when each season is either a steady decline or a repeat of past issues when we look to be doing well.

Fair point. Feels like we're in a loveless marriage now. With the exception of a few weeks here and there it's been doom and gloom down the city for at least 3 seasons

It’s more that the football is so shit.

We're Cardiff City we'll sing when we want .:aya:
At the Preston game we literally sang 2 or 3 times in 90 mins. I know times have been bad before and and know atmospheres have been poor in the past but this is the worst it’s been for well over 20 years imo. For all the reasons @Jimmytaff mentioned.

We keep going to games, we keep supporting our team, well some of us, but after years of dross and a real feeling of disconnection from the club, it just feels like the fans have had all the enthusiasm sucked out of them.

It has and will be what we're witnessing on the pitch that generates an atmosphere singing ect.Hate if we went down the ultras road like the stripey nigels and other teams have gone down

Say what you want about Palace, the atmosphere at Selhurst Park is outstanding. The only reason Millwall fans came up with name ‘the Nigels’ is jealousy.

I was fortunate then, to see last of 60' and all 70's / t present day. Yeah the 90's were weird for a lot of things.:hehe:
