Southampton ‘spied’ on other Championship clubs, EFL told

In that case Southampton have failed to manage their staff properly and are responsible for his actions.
Like we were for our crowd chanting something or other a while back.
If Southampton had fired the guy and apologised, that would be a start. Allegations from other clubs don't look good though.

Are they saying this junior member of staff took it upon himself to leave his normal place of work without permission and travel all the way to Middlesbrough to spy.
It's just not feasible.

No more cheating than watching the last 8 games on video is it. Just the dull xunt thought he was being clever. That's all.
It's not fully cricket but given clubs in the Championship almost all have private training grounds it all seems a bit daft. How much can you really learn from a kid with a mobile phone from a dodgy angle anyhow. If he had more sense he would just make notes on his phone. Sounds like a youngster showing initiative to try and get ahead

That's what I think all you had to do is watch their games on video.
But they broke the rules and should be bombed out and given a points deduction.
Otherwise why have the rules at all.
Are there actual rules against it? Serious question

On the first point it sounds like he may have done it on his own initiative in the hope of getting ahead.

Your second point is well made though sir

Would we be getting sympathy if we did it, like fuck we would.

Knew there was a bit of commotion about it but if they don't have a secure training ground then they're partially to blame. It's cheating but teams are always after an advantage and it's not illegal
Makes you wonder what clubs have got up in the past.
This kid did make himself a bit obvious so makes me think more professional operators have been used .
There is so much money involved i bet they have particularly abroad.

Wasn't actually sure but seems there is a rule in place that seems to have been broken

with the Football Association (FA) charging Southampton over an alleged breach of rule 127, which states it is prohibited to observe another club's training session within 72 hours of a game.

They'll get a 'small' fine I guess. Ridiculous really when there's 200 million quid at stake but it's too late to change a shitload of arrangements now.

You're probably right but can't see Middlesbrough leaving it at that, along with other teams in and around the playoffs.

They need to decide something soon though as this uncertainty is unfair on all clubs involved directly

Fans looking to book trains/hotels etc...And the saucy cunts that sold me 6 chicken nuggets and chips and a warm can of Lilt at the England v Uruguay game for £15 need to know how many nuggets to defrost.

All good points and very well presented, even I can understand things a bit more now
