Football Summer Transfer Window

HOME FUN BETS LOTTERY
Certainly going to be an interesting window. First time in ages that we have quite a few sought after players, if BBM can keep everyone he want's he'll have had more than a half good transfer window
In my view we've got 3 players that would go for a minimum of £15m each and in some cases more.

Lawlor could feasibly be more than £30m, J Colwill £20m and Kpakio £15m.

Add onto that young lads like Tanner, R Colwill, Robertson and Ashford and we've got a significant amount of money that we could raise to bring players in.

I'd personally rather spend less and keep them all but if the value is there and we get an absolutely ludicrous bid for someone like Kpakio that I'm not really a massive fan of you'd have to give serious considerations to selling him and spending 8 figures on buying new players - and I'd certainly trust BBM to bring in the right players over prior transfer committees we've had.

Agreed, too good to be a number 2. A decent replacement for Trott.
BBM said when tyrer signed, he wanted 2 goalkeepers of equal calibre, able to step up if & when needed( like trott getting an injury long term, would have left us with tyrer & and academy keeper as back up).
I see his logic tbh.

Easier said than done but my perfect scenario would be to keep the unit of youngsters as complete as possible atm and look to keep producing replacements as best we can. A good season in the Championship alone would vastly increase their value and a year down the road, hopefully new youngsters are starting to emerge.

Obviously if a situation arose where we could improve on a position, then by all means do that, but preferably with youth again.

Guess what I'd like to see is gentle tweaking of our squad rather that wholesale changes, an evolving squad based on the foundations BBM has built.

Say it quietly but I would consider selling Kpac if a good offer came in. Think he could do quite well elsewhere but not solid enough for us in the position he plays. Wouldn't mind seeing him play more forward first though before we get rid

Don't encourage that 🔔 end Monty.
Check out the thread regarding Jordan James it's comedy gold.
The guy stands by a flag and now thinks he's chief scout for BBM 🤣

Can everyone else see that guy's tweets? I think I might be blocked from viewing them.
Nah, doesn't show for me either and my twitter account is only seemingly used to advertise big naturals to me.

God bless the algorithm

NATHAN TROTT: MY VIEW
The one I never get is why anyone on a Cardiff forum should give a fuck about some random shite team in Spain somewhere, and even more why it's usually pinned to the top.

Slightly optimistic valuations there Mr Fight club

Lawler is the one we are going to struggle to hang on too but £10 million max I would say

With how much U21 and home nations nationality matters for squad registration rules I don't think they're too bad tbh.

If we sold McGuinness at ~24 a couple years ago for a fee that could (and probably should) have reached £10m, Lawlor at four years younger with a far higher profile and with passing skills that are critical for a modern day centre half should be far more than he was.

Looking at deals from the Championship to Prem sides for u21s in the last couple years, Archie Gray went for £20m to Spurs, Philogene for £25m to Ipswich and Alex Scott for £23m to Bournemouth. Lawlor, IMO, is a better prospect than all of those, and is a couple of years afterwards so footballing inflation can have an impact too. On top of that, all three of those are full bird internationals for a home nation which is again a massive boost in reputation for them and therefore the fee.

Gone are the days of us getting sharked for Aaron Ramsey and having to take lowball deals. There could very easily be bidding wars for all three of those players, especially when you consider all three have the potential to be starters for over a decade for a PL level club, and Lawlor in particular I reckon will end up as a starting centre half for a club in European competitions. He's a Rolls Royce of a centre half that I would fully expect teams like Man City to be sniffing around this summer and not teams at the level of maybe a Fulham or a Brentford that I would expect to come sniffing around some of our other youngsters.

We genuinely have one of the most promising youth intakes across Europe these last year or two. Long may it continue.
