That rings a bell.didn't the landlord there kill his Mrs and try to say he just woke up and she was dead?
That's the Cardiff ITEC building behind. They sent me on a YTS scheme there. It was utter balls. Just a way of keeping the unemployment figures down. Often used to pop in the Glendower for a sneeky lunchtime (and sometimes teabreak) pint. Was only 16. The guy who ran ITEC was a complete tosser. Always running the 16 & 17 year olds down. "you'll never account to anything!" etc etc.I think this is the pub @Joecity was thinking of, The Glendower, opposite end of the side street the Custom house was on

Lots of good boozers have gone over the years, recent times have been particularly bad for Cardiff pubs shutting down, going to post some pics of some of these, a fair few were top notch in their day.
Duke of Clarence Canton, closed 2015, big city fans pub this was.

Used to love the bar in the Sploltands. Full of, mainly, old characters. I was only a youngster but used to love a chat with the old fellas. Remember having a three hour chat with an 80 year old guy about Jeffrey DahmerThe Splotlands, closed in 2014

Never warmed to Rumploes. Was much better when it was the Rumney/Rhymney or whatever it was called.
Used to work in Portcullis House for a bit. Many a two hour lunch in there. Me and a mad mate who worked there( from Aberdare) would sprint down there for a quick pint on a 15 min teabreakAlways be the coldstream to me shut in 2009
