The Ollie Tanner death threats and Gareth Bale comparisons

Agreed mate:thumbup:The club seems a lot more sensible with it's recruitment and spending recently so I'm hoping that the likes of Medel, Cornelius and Murphy are soon just distant memories
When you total them three alone at what we paid & returns:yikes: we lost around 20m ish!! Plus glatzel a loss of what 4.5m thank fuck the club seems to have taken control of it lately! Can see why tan gets pissed off at times! Yes other clubs have similar stories, but most of them could easily absorb them kind of losses.

Tan seems a bit naive when it comes to football. Some proper governance and canny appointments should have stopped him being screwed. Not every signing will work out but some of our biggest deals feel corrupt and have been our biggest failures.

Oh agree 100% some brown envelopes passed hands no doubt in my mind! A director of football could have saved him a small fortune!

Cornelius is the one that seems dodgiest. Madine was shite but it seemed a good and shrewd move at the time. Murphy was frustrating but showed glimpses.

This is all anecdotal but when we signed Cornelius for £7.5m, Aston Villa apparently concluded he was worth no more than a fifth of that. Had he been the next Ibrahimovich as touted then none of us would be complaining but he contributed nothing and looked like he didn't want to be here. There were rumours Malky was playing him when he wasn't ready as he had to justify the outlay. I bet some gigantic kickbacks happened around that deal and found it shocking he was effectively signed without the boards approval - how is that possible in any well run business?

Yeah Cornelius was certainly left field, too much so! Madine wasn't worth 5m imho, and it showed by his fantastic goals return!:hehe:I'm also dubious about the sala deal too, as reports suggested warnock going behind dalmans back to tan, to convince him, he was worth the 15m, when dalman & choo thought he wasn't! Again a director of football would have sorted that out too:shrug2:Seems tan was swayed by the vast experience warnock had, over the actual full committee :nope: bacuna on a what 5 yr deal at stupid money too! Again costing the club a fortune, dodgy af imho.

I'm not personally convinced you need a DOF but you definitely need experts who thoroughly understand the game, are well connected and get football finance. Could be several people rather than a DoF.

We'll sadly never know if Sala would have been worth the money. Given the small margins that season he wouldn't have needed to do that much to have kept us up and might then have justified the fee.

Heard Warnock not whiter than white but he may have just been using his nous to get a player he thought would make a difference. Given the crazy money in football it's not surprising there's loads of corruption especially when managers can use their personality and profile to spin their own narrative. Not accusing Warnock of anything but Malky had our fanbase strongly behind him before his sacking. Doubt many would echo that support knowing what we know now.

Madine cost

Madine cost £6.8m.

I think glatzel was ruined by the way he was asked to play tbf, he isn't that lone hold em up type of striker, but warnock thought he could turn him into one:nope:
It’s almost like Warnock didn’t

Ithink Warnock being so influential in the position he had is a big reason we’ll never have a director of football or similar at the club while Tan is still around.

Agreed, he's had his fingers burnt a couple of times(tan) so imho has every right to be cautious/less trusting with his monies, a crying shame really, as with the right people with him, he could have been much less maligned by a lot of fans, and more likely liked a lot more by some, not all of course, As some have a clear agenda against him.
Seems he has taken somewhat of a back seat this year, and dalman seems to be far more involved (got to protect his loans I suppose) I'm hoping this is a sign of better times ahead:thumbup:
We have done quite well in attracting 9 new players here, I sort of took buluts comments about 10 in with a pinch of salt tbh, but he obviously meant it, and if moore had indeed come, 10 it would have been!:clap:and not a load of dross either, now it's time for us as fans to for once, show a little more patience, and let them get on with gelling as a unit, manager &players.
Of course results matter, but I've seen posts already elswhere, stating the jacks game is now " a must win" game, or the fans( not my wording) will turn! Of course the game matters, more for some than any other, and a win would appease them no end, but is it really a must win at all costs game? :shrug2: 6 games in, that only leaves 120 points left to play for! I'm betting on us beating them jbs, and hopefully it kick starts a run of positive results:aya::aya: but not going to throw my dummy out if we don't, unless we get whooped, and the players don't put in the efforts required for a derby game,I know Bulut fully understands the significance of a derby, as he's been involved in a few bigger than this one, but will know how this can have a positive effect, both for players & fans alike! :aya::aya::aya:

These dickheads saying the fans will turn are vaccuos idiots. They don't speak for us. Empty vessels make the most noise
