Of course but when Warnock does it, it’s dodgy.

Well yeah of course

What did he ever do for us other than being competitive, turning the club around, lifting the spirits of the fans, signing some good players, engaging with the fans, telling Nuno to fuck off all with the added Promotion

I think Warnock claimed recently that Pep phones him up for advice. I find that very hard to believe. It's like a brain surgeon asking the hospital porter for advice.
Probably a good idea if you want to move people around

All managers make dud signings, Sir Alex could afford too every now and then, as a big club it doesn't affect them, they can send them out on loan, sell at a loss or pay them off without a moments thought. We on the other hand cant afford to do it, Warnocks signings in 2019 especially set us back a good few years. We couldn't get rid until their contracts ended and no resale value. We squandered both our parachute payments in both relegations due to having a board that knows nothing about football.

6 Mill for Aden Flint! I mean come on.

Did they set us back years?
We finished 5th that year and 8th the year after.

The worst finish we’ve had since Warnock was last season, after our “best transfer window in years” under Morison according to you. There was no Warnock signings in last seasons first team.

You can prove anything with facts:hehe:

We finished 5th due to Tomlin hitting a purple patch and Harris was getting a tune out of him. We were 14th when Warnock left, We finished 8th cos Mick had a terrific honeymoon period. Long term the signings were not good enough for an instant return to the prem. No recent prem side signs players with the standard like Pack, Vaulks and Flint and expect to bounce back. They were mediocre players which is if you want to remain a solid mid table championship club.

Well I would’ve taken that last year after the best transfer window you’ve seen in years.

Warnock's signings had to go anyway, they would've been on stupid money for what they were. I was full of hope with Morison and that we can push on and evolve the style of play but it was just another false dawn in the non-philosophy, philosophy of the club. His best signings were the loans in January with Hugill, Doyle and Drameh.

He wasn't thrilled about the money that was wasted on signing Josh Murphy.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that at the time we signed the likes of Murphy, the infamous Transfer Committee was had been created which meant Tab was directly involved in all transfer business.

Warnock had them wrapped around his finger with his charm and experience. That's the whole problem with the committee, there's no football nous there. We could've saved so much money if there was a director of football. The decision making since the committee was formed has been by in large atrocious. Our best signings in the past few years have mostly been loans that we didn't retain.

out of interest how many championship clubs have a director of football?

A good few do, Norwich, Sunderland, Watford, Southampton, Leicester etc. I know Stoke don't have one they've got a similar set up to us with Peter Coates and his son running everything and they've had the same problems as us, wasted so much money on average players and heavily reliant on the individual managers transfers and philosophy. It cant be a coincidence they've not been able to bounce back to the prem not even manage a top 6 push since relegation in 2018. The director of football is the modern way now, in how clubs keep to a philosophy and appoint managers and players to suit it.

Yes they did, some clubs in league 1 & 2 have got them. Problem is when you have a board just made up of businessmen with no football nous are vulnerable to getting ripped off by agents. Stuart Webber has recently just left Norwich, I'd have him here tomorrow! he would make a massive difference here. He was responsible with David Wagner at Huddersfield and Daniel Farke at Norwich.
