For those unfamiliar with the Molinuex (I don't blame you, Wolverhampton is a shithole) The away section is across the entire width of the pitch along the bottom tier of one of the main stands. This means that you can get great seats on the half way line, but there are wolves fans above. Furthermore, there are corporate seats directly behind. Not like our stadium (or anywhere else for that matter), I mean literally right behind, if you stand in front of a wall and turn around you'll get a good idea of what it was like. There are no seats in front, just tinted glass.
One prat behind this glass decided to do the same 'plane' gesture that 2 Southampton fans did a few weeks ago. As you can imagine, 15~20 city fans were enraged, giving gestures and names to the bloke right to his face. Stewards tried to calm them down, before learning why they were so agitated. Eventually, the police were called, having previously overseen two idiot city fans squaring up over seats (some apparently aren't aware that city fans sit where they want at away games). These police again tried to calm city fans down, but after around 20 from the incident, they began taking statements. At half time, after all the usuals went underneath, a steward explained that police had arrested the man in the box. It took long enough, but eventually, the coppers sorted the situation, and said that they expected a 3 or 5 year banning order.
I should at that most wolves fans and police were impeccable, offering advice for avoiding traffic at the end of the game, directing us (even walking us) to the stadium, etc. However, 20 years ago, the police would not have had an attitude of de-escalation, and the city fans would have been far more short-tempered. Whilst this wasn't the most pleasant aspect of the day, it was good to see how conflict resolution is finally a skill being utilised in the police and by the stewards.
Thought I'd share, as the tinted glass (metaphorically and literally) will prevent this being in the newspapers.)

I notice on the Anus messageboard they say it was carnage all over the stadium and outside yesterday:hehe: sensationalism through boredom probably......mun

I saw that too ,but didn't witness any. This was about hmm maybe 2 feet away though so I know what I saw happened, heard every word.

Perhaps west midlands police have finally sorted themselves out after years of being absolute twats, certainly up there with south yorkshire plod. Last time I was at wolves, about 14 years ago, they told us not to drink in the town and that they would open the bars for us in the ground. They shut the bars as everyone started ordering drinks, the place erupted with city fans and police going toe to toe, even delayed the second half kick off if I remember right.

I Remember some real police brutality at Walsall, West mids used to love Cardiff in town

Treat the police with respect and they'll treat you like it.

Click bait on there. Got to fund the Mallorcan retirement pot somehow.

I was right at the front of that melee, as we were the first to the beer queue at half time.

What actually happened was they'd started pouring pints, but an order came from somewhere to stop, so City fans started pouring their own and the staff tried to pull the shutters down and the City fans were pushing them back up, accompanied by a raucous chant of 'WE WANT BEER!!'

Stewards appeared and that went right off, so the riot police from inside the ground charged into the concourse where there were more scuffles and a stand off. A police helmet was procured and was passed about the City fans and there were signs and other stuff being flung into the thick blue line.

Carried on back into the stands and after the 2nd half kicked off, as the police charged us all back out of the concourse.

My mate got some tasty licks across his legs from a truncheon in the seats area as they then cleared the aisles.

The only thing I'd disagree with was the 14 years ago statement, but looking back, it probably was about that. Shit, time flies.

Pic here from another forum showing it kicking right off :sherlock:

That looks pretty gruesome. The way a few of the Police are watching TV sends a right shiver down your spine doesn’t it?

I tell you what I’ve a mind to never go to a football match again .terrifying scenes like this make you realise how vulnerable you are because of a few hot heads. Never saw shit like this in the seventies and eighties and looking at that picture it seems like it’s the same few lads. Fuck the Merseyside derby im hiding under the bed for an hour until I feel safe again

At least we know why Junior Hoilett didn't play, looks like he was doing a bit of moonlighting for West Midlands OB.

Hopefully the club will do the right thing and provide counselling for everyone who may have been affected by witnessing such horrific scenes.

Was that the same game, when one of the Caerphilly lot released a handbrake of a police car and decided to push it down the hill
