Football BARNSLEY 1-1 CARDIFF: POST MATCH FANS REACTIONS

Yet everyone is raving about Scanlon last night. Didn't he give the ball away for their goal?!

The problem is when we lose the ball we're vulnerable at the back.
Was pretty high up the pitch so blame needs to be shared around or accepted that it's a vulnerability in our tactics

I think they do actually
He's virtually the only player we have who looks a danger running with the ball and is frequently double marked because of the threat he poses. Unfortunately, despite frequently getting past his markers, with Salech out of the side there is often nobody looking to get on the end of a pass or cross from him - usually a pass because it seems pointless putting anything higher because of our lack of an aerial threat. Despite this, it's actually remarkable how many assists he's still managing to provide.

Cool, let's drop him and take his assists out of the side then.

That'll improve us no end.

He's very one dimensional imo, struggled to beat his mam yesterday and the giving the ball away which lead to the goals against Lincoln.

Don't get me started on his corner kicks.

His mam must be a good defender then, sign her up.

He put in some good crosses yesterday which nobody make the break into the box for. This "gave ball away therefore they scored" is bollocks - that absolves all of the defenders and midfielders with opportunities to break the counter attack up.

Corners are neither here nor there, not sure if you've watched any games recently, but it's not like we've a Sean Morrison, Sol Bamba or even Goutas bossing headers at attacking set pieces.

Tanner, like him or not, is the only wide player we have who looks to drive at the opposition full back, happy to go outside and try to make something happen.

Even if we had some aerial threats at corners they'd be body slammed and suplexed without punishment while we concede penalties for thought crimes

I haven't been to a rave since about 2005...Was banging though...Think I done 2 on the head something I'd never do now...Tanners is still a bit shite tho....Has a bad attitude in my opinion....could just be his way mind but he always looks pissed off.

In fairness, I don't think you can call them good crosses if they don't go to anyone. They can go in dangerous areas, yes, but I wouldn't say they're a good cross if there's not anyone on the end of them as such.

Started the game last night much like we've started most games this season on the front foot and should have been at least two up in the first twenty minutes ,but after the equaliser we lost our shape and lucky not to concede another .Second half again w

e controlled possession yet didn't really look like grabbing a winner.Coming to the business end of the season and are still in a good position ,but some things need to be addressed particularly the central defence pairing Chambers Lawlor and Osho. are very similar in the way they play with the ball at their feet and this is why Fish should be playing he is a no frills centre half and if one of the former go forward he'll sit he's disciplined in that roll .We have plenty of width but sent utilizing it we've stopped crossing when we have the chance something we've been doing in recent weeks .Robinson cuts a frustrated figure at present he's not playing to his strengths he's a box striker yet he's dropping into midfield and nullifying the threat he is After two poor results BBM now faces his first real test something I'm sure he'll rise to ,and push us on to clinching that promotion spot .🐦BLUEBIRDS🐦

I could assist Salech....Blokes a machine that just needs servicing...I don't dislike Tanner but I think his body language has gotten worse and worse...I'd have Ashford over him right now.. Tanner will come again I'm sure but he's like a btec Jack Grealish now...Scowling and walking round with no shin pands on...I'd drop him for a couple of games me...this is the time for enthusiasm and effort...he just don't look like he got any at the moment.

They were good crosses due to being in dangerous areas for defenders. If he'd have aimed them for where our players were, they'd have been going back outside the penalty area.

One dimensional needs to go in the football cliches thread.
:hehe:

Seriously though, what exactly do you mean by it? He’s a left footed winger that’s being played on the right. Despite this he doesn’t simply cut in every time, he regularly goes outside the full back and crosses into the box. He also plays off Ng / Kpakio / Colwill too and will shoot given the chance. What exactly isn’t he doing that you think he should?

Tell Norris that he loves him?

Predictable and direct, just sprints in a straight line hoping to beat his man, as soon as he gets into and the box, he is proper winging it.

Pun intended.

Absolute bollocks :hehe:

I'd say the only thing he needs to work on is his finishing.

So far as his attitude is concerned, I'm sure that he is far more angry at himself for not doing better. His work rate is excellent.

He’s a league 1 winger not Ronaldinho. What do you want him to do, a few step overs, the odd Cruyff turn?
