Football BBM managerial speculation

It's hardly a once in a lifetime opportunity though. Chelsea and United sack managers most seasons, the Celtic job comes up every couple of years and who knows how often Man City will turn over theirs once Pep finally goes?
Yes but you can be a hero as a football manager and much coveted one second and then be a zero the next. If he did get one of those offers he couldn't be confident he'd get another in due course.

All well and good but right now his stocks are high.

What happens if we go up and next season he struggles in the championship and his system is found out?

Would he even be mentioned at that point?

If we don't go up this season he'll be judged by many as a failure but only because he was able to raise expectations

It probably would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone like BBM atm. Even though the opportunities become available quite often, you still need to be in the right place at the right time when they do come around. Six months from now there could be another crop of golden managers.

That sort of underlines how bonkers it all is, doesn't it?

Mind you, a bloke who wasn't good enough for Hull City 5 minutes ago has just been given a 6-year deal at Chelsea, so it is what it is I guess!

If he was offered a job by United or Celtic he would never in a million years turn it down. It would he a devastating loss to us, but impossible for him not to go.
Celtic I don't see, manure? Possible, but he'd be taking a huge risk career wise imho, better off here, where he gets to pick the side, unless of course people still believe tan is.
IF he gets us promoted, and starts the championship on fire, then id be more worried tbf.:aya:

6 years. Bloody Nora. I bet he’s not there this time next year.

There are a few who seem to be that way! It's promotion or he's a flop!! No time for us to implement a plan as a club, demanding an instant return to championship, almost wishing him to fail imho.
Just saw west brom also now looking for a new manager! Well they can all fuck right off! :hehe:

I reckon he'll get us up. I'll try not to be harsh on him if he doesn't unless we prove to be bottle jobs. The way he rotates the team has gone from being a concern to an asset now in my eyes. I get the impression he really knows the players now too. All our players have had their workloads managed and are used to playing various combinations. I doubt many other L1 are doing the same so can see us finishing strongly and other teams falling away.

He made it pretty clear on MotD he wanted a new job:hehe:

Amoritized meaning gradually write off the initial cost of (an asset ) over a period .👍
It's commonly done in American sports apparently. Been a while since I've read about but essentially it's along the lines of you give players the amount you'd give them for 3 years over 7 years so you can retain them as an asset, increase the chance of a transfer and 'con' FFP. I think it's arranged so that the player won't lose out either. Far as I could tell it was legal but it was clamped down on. Chelsea, Man City etc can afford lawyers and accountants to make a mockery of the laws that other teams feel compelled to abide by.

On the bottle jobs bit, Will that be him, or the players fault though? 🤔
Agree with the rotation bit, and tbf its understandable with the squad size we have, players need to be managed accordingly, and the benefits are there to see in my opinion.
A few quality additions in this window & I'd agree, we could finish the season stronger than 1st half :aya::thumbup:

Max player contract for FFP is 5 years as a result, I think. Chelsea were offsetting transfer fees over 8 years or so.

Who knows but ultimately the manager gets a lot of the praise or blame. I'm a convert to BBMs rotation now - seems to know the horses for courses - understandable he didn't get it quite right early doors. If we make 2 or 3 quality additions I think we'll be champions by some margin. If using loans hopefully we don't risk it on more 'raw' players unless they're outstanding
