All the posts about this are in the Todays Football thread so what Wavey has suggested is to move all of those posts over to here, so I'm hijacking your thread a bit here stanty (you'll still be the OP though)

Back on BBC1 now

Every bit of that was fucking awful.

Didn’t realise they’d restarted the game, I assumed they’d play it another day.
I’d switched over to ITV ready for the Belgium game and sat through Jo fucking Brand on tipping point!

Obviously delighted that the lad seems to be out of the woods

I just saw they did compressions, so definitely cardiac arrest.
The fact that he was sitting up and conscious is an excellent sign and defibrillation obviously worked but will likely need some cardiac surgery depending on cause.
Very unlikely he’ll ever play football again though.
Nearly 20 million he cost inter milan.
I'd ask for my money back.

I knew this would happen. Would there be complaints if Denmark had won? Doubt it.
I must say I was surprised they restarted the game.
Had that happened in the premier league for example then surely it would’ve been abandoned and replayed at a later date.
Appreciate there was a far more limited timeframe to get this game played, but this was too soon.

That said, the decision was made, and we have to get on with it.

I was concerned at the time that pressure was applied by uefa, who cleverly put out that the players wanted to continue it yesterday evening. Was the lesser of two evils for both teams, who'd have one day less recovery if they continued today. The show must go on. Keep the sponsors and tv companies happy, no matter what.

I didn't want to watch any more football yesterday after witnessing what happened. And from my perspective, hat's off to both sets of players for getting back out onto that pitch -Not too sure I could've done it
