It's incredible how it took one truly world class player in the form of Bale, and to a lesser extent a prime-era Ramsey, to drag this little nation onto the world stage. We might never have a player like Bale grace our team again but it was quite something to witness.

Yeah...there'll be players as talented but like you say his commitment was all consuming.

There were plenty of jibes at the time about Wales being a one-man team and, despite all the denials, I think on many occasions that was exactly the case.

Portugal have more quality than Wales, but Ronaldo's goals (still going at 40) provided the same Bale-effect.

North Macedonia will have plenty to say in the last game that won’t be an easy at all they’ll also be playing for the chance to go to the World Cup. It would be the hardest game we’ve had for years. It's a significant result for us, especially in how we've now established ourselves as genuine contenders in qualifying for major tournaments.

We've witnessed everything that was never expected in a million years 20 years ago.

Qualification for 2016 and semi finalists.

World Cup play offs for 2018.

Qualification for Euro's 2021.

Qualification for Qatar.

Play off finals for Euro 24.

Winning the Nations League.

Now another play off for the USA, now with a younger energetic side without the reliance of Bale & Rambo.

We have done alright, thinking back to the Tosh years, we are now laughing.
