And what was so negative about a realistic assessment of tactic against our current contracted squad?

It's a big task hes got ahead of him, I'm in favour of attack minded managers because even if you lose, you can be entertained in the process as opposed to some of the dire defensive shit we've seen.
I didn't say you said anything negative...read it back I was singin'

We're a team with a Bulut. :hide:

Good luck to him.
The club are obviously trying g to change direction and should be applauded for it.
At least they are thinking outside the box and not just settling with promoting from within.
Let's all try and get behind this appointment.

It's a surprise, that one.

Despite what a certain website owner has claimed, he's never managed Galatasary, only top team he's managed has been Fenerbahce and that was for one season - would be interesting to know why they got rid of him.

Gaziantep fired him this season for starting with 19 points from 19 games albeit with what looks like an aging squad.

Maybe not an elite manager in the Trukish league, looks a decent manager but finishing high up behind Fenerbahce, Galatasary and Besiktas is like managing Aberdeen in the SPL I guess.

Let's hope he's more like Errol Flynn than Errol the Hamster...Looking fr info on the guy.

Found a reddit thread.

This bit (with the caveat it's a fans view) is a bit concerning.

"For Erol:
  1. He had a great squad but never used any of them properly. Using Pelkas as LW and so on;
  2. It was clear that he couldn't connect with players;
  3. We were winning games, thanks to Altay. If it was Harun, for instance, Hatayspor or teams like that would have humiliated us;
  4. He wasn't a dominant character like Fatih or Sergen and that's why he couldn't keep up with big players' egos;
  5. Last but not least, we didn't have any plan for most of our matches. That's why Caner was crossing too many times."

The two he mentions, sergen Yalçin, and faith terem, are really old heads in the turkish game, especially term on the management side!! As a Beşiktaş fan, I can say, as a player, sergen was a class act, & he did win the lig as manager, but he had spent big, and made some dodgy decisions on players etc, eventually getting him fired.
The managerial merry-go-round in Turkey, is really bad, compared to UK for instance, over there most owners demand instant results, and ain't afraid to wield the axe, of results aren't as good as they " expect" it certainly doesn't take much for the owners there to get pissed!
Gaziantep withdrew from fixtures due to earthquake and its aftermath.as did a few others in that area.fatih term has international management experience too,As he is a bit older than Bulut.and has managed only top teams( he is rather expensive!) Gaziantep are a poor team tbf, not a lot of money.And the Istanbul teams are the other end of the scale financially.
Istanbul başekşehir only do well of late, as they are funded by Erdoğan! But still play in front of only 10k! Fenerbahçe expect to win the division EVERY season, and to finish behind their main rivals, even tho they were level on points with Beşiktaş in 2nd, that's more than enough for their owner to kick the manager into touch.
Believe me, you have to have skin like a rhino. To even think of managing there!! :hehe::thumbup:

I’m just gutted he didn’t turn us down so I could make the ‘we dodged a bulit’ joke.

Think it's pronounced bulutay.:thumbup:

Today's new manager post :hehe:

Sounds like much of the same then.

I prefer him to the Portuguese option, but you have to wonder what he has that Jones doesn't, or even Lamouchi. Cameron Toshack would be an interesting choice, could there be a place for him at the club anyway?

Jones probabaly wanted a sporting director in place, probably the guy he had at Luton. That's the only thing I can think of, he was clearly the best option available.
