How would you rate our players over the season?

Spot on with the decision making comment.

I wonder if it's something as simple as that he was able to use his athleticism to get out of all situations at younger levels when playing about kids and now all of a sudden has had to learn won't work anymore when he's no longer an outlier physically.

Reminds me of playing football as a kid - we had a lad up front who must've been about 6'0" at 12 so all we ever did was loft crosses in and he'd score loads a season. When it came time for everyone else to grow up as well he all of a sudden fell off a cliff because he'd never had to learn to play with his feet and all of a sudden his massive physical advantage at headers was gone
Another young player's career killed by Gary Madine's Fight Club.

Robinson I had at a six but gave slightly higher as a few of his goals/assists came in close games that ended up being very important with the teams chasing us. 11 goal involvements from 40 appearances total doesn't sound like much, but considering just how many of those would be 10-15 minutes off the bench I think he's done well with limited chances.

Colwill on the other hand spent a long time coming back from injury, but ran the gaff before he got injured and Kellyman came in. Oftentimes he's been the only spark for us offensively and his tricky feet have gotten us out of a lot of high presses when we've had limited cover behind him. Although he did get 14 goal involvements this year in 31 games for us (roughly 1 in 2), he's also come back from a major injury and we had a big slump in form when he was out of the team which to me always shows how important a player is. Also, averaging 7.3/10 across a season is no small feat - only players higher than that are Bagan and Ng who both had a serious chance of being our player of the season themselves.
Are you sure we had a slump in form when Rubin was out injured? I thought our points return was impressive in the games he was out injured. They dipped when he came back in.

Started to dip before he came back in. Teams couldn't work out how to deal with Kellyman as false 9, once they had footage to study, was less effective.

It was playing Rubin with Kellyman that coincided with the hiccup.

Yes maybe so. But our period of a slump was actually when Rubin started games after his absense. he came back into starting Line up v Lincoln that and the next 5 games where he started we W1, L2 and D3. The OP says we dipped when Rubin was out and that IMO is not True. We won 15 out of 20 when he was missing, only losing 2.
I like Rubin and reckon he is going to go on to good things. But our form dipped when he came back into the team. There was certainly no dip in form when he was out. Whether we think it was for whatever reason, the stats are there. And it is no coincidence the slump happened when his brother was dropped.

Ruben is a bit of an enigma. Too good for the Championship on his day but can be managed out of games and when not with it he's more of a help than a hindrance. He's a maverick, which most fans say they want but aren't happy when he's not on it
