I said BBM would be gone by Chrimbo because the club wouldn't give him a chance but fair play he hit the ground running.
Trust me tho if we'd been mid league by Christmas we'd have Ian Bowyer or Jason Lowe as the boss by now.
I think Bulut was meant to be the man as a lot of thought and work seemed to go into getting him. It didn't work as we all know but I think a lot of thought has gone into what type of manager we wanted. last year just turned into a right off.
They took their time appointing BBM and although we struck lucky I'm not as convinced as many seem to be that this wasn't part of a plan with some serious research going into it. As you say though, if it had all gone pear shaped, yes, we'd be ending the season with exactly the type of manager you mention

NTT20 are phenomenal.
Ali Maxwell in particular is extremely well clued up tactically and really knows his stuff about football and the EFL.
BBM has undoubtedly been an absolutely phenomenal appointment and is in my mind a manager who has the tactical nous to go extremely far in this sport but there's absolutely an element of luck with our hiring of BBM, especially considering he was already employed as a coach at Leicester under RVN at the time.

WEED CLUB Sounds about right. The ref was decent but gave out yellows for seemingly trivial stuff to both teams

You can understand how people had that opinion at the start, and although I don't know just how much of it came down to the iTkS talking about our manager search but we went from Ramsey rejecting us to Jones rejecting us to a hot list of Challinor/Evatt/BBM. If you listened to that then that puts BBM at best 3rd choice depending on whether anyone out of that hot list rejected us.

We did though - Jones played our interest to get a better deal at Charlton. If he'd been interested in coming here...

Certainly no official statements but enough people that are usually quite clued in about the club were coming out with the same stuff that to me showed there was no smoke without fire - especially with Jones signing a massive new bumper contract right when we were supposedly seriously looking at him.
Maybe but there's too much circlejerking and attention seeking for me to take them seriously so I largely ignored what they were saying
I think Ali used to write for the Athletic didn’t he? Certainly knows the game well at this level.
