Off-Topic Repeal the Online Safety Act

The story EYF posted "just out of interest" was about Labour saying Farage is "siding with extreme pornographers over children".

If that's not an example of someone "saying anything to get votes" then I don't know what is.
Didn’t say it wasn’t. IMHO it was overly defensive, and focussed on just one aspect of the legislation.

Nobody in their right mind wants their 8 year old kid watching porn.

I’m absolutely sure that you don’t, but you are also absolutely clear that you don’t support THIS legislation- that doesn’t make you a nonce enabler.

The difference is, you’re not selling your arsehole to become Prime Minister

Kyle refused to back down after Farage's criticism, saying on social media: "If you want to overturn the Online Safety Act you are on the side of predators. It is as simple as that"

Bit of a simplistic view.
I know, especially coming from a bloke who voted against a grooming gang inquiry (which Starmer then u-turned on).

Has it been repealed yet?

Petitions have historically worked every time

Funny that, last time I landed at Heathrow they wanted to see my passport
You got to come by boat to be passport free.

And not the type run by P&o before you get all pedantic

I only use Chris Failing Grayling's non entity of a ferry company which has no ships.

I'm still waiting to go and see Wales in Euro 16.

He'll be back tracking on that before the end of the week.....you simply can't equate the 2.

I bet Farage loved that...what an open goal.

Whatever you think of Farage I think that attitude from Labour will only work against them massively.

:hehe: Looks like there willing to die on this hill

I was listening to London radio just now, where they had experts on saying kids will just use VPNs now too , making it harder to protect them

A lot of kids inevitably will but it will mean kids won't stumble across extreme content as easily and as young as they do now. That doesn't mean I support the act before anyone starts.

It also seems weird having this crackdown at the same time as WhatsApp on a major campaign basically implying you can hide whatever content you want on there in your messages and nobody will ever know

Yet another idiotic Tory policy.

Thank God they're gone and hopefully for good this time.

'When both the left and the right are united in their disdain for a piece of legislation, you know there must be something up. So, enter the Online Safety Act: a law so riddled with corruption, incompetence, and authoritarianism that you’d be forgiven for agreeing with Nigel Farage.'
