yes played ok 1st half then they changed their front 5 and brought the big boys on and then it was a matter of keeping the score down but we did bring on a lot of youngsters on as well

Ok. I’ve never been too bothered about pre season games if I’m honest, I certainly don’t care about the result. Good to see plenty of younger players like Bowen, Davies and Jones involved. I have to say though, unless Mick has something up his sleeve, I am still concerned about our lack of creativity in midfield.

Ok. I’ve never been too bothered about pre season games if I’m honest, I certainly don’t care about the result. Good to see plenty of younger players like Bowen, Davies and Jones involved. We were awful, and if that performance is to be judged upon, we are in a relegation battle. Midfield absolutely crap as it has been for a number of seasons. No punch whatsoever in the opposition half. Save a not bad performance from Giles and brown, maybe add mcguinees in there, IT was terrible.

What I do find a little odd, is the team put out at this stage in pre season. We only have one game left before the start of the season to play what you would expect to be our first choice team, or at least very close to it.

I always try to find a positive from a game, but that is going to be limited to some individual performances. McGuinness, Brown, Nelson, Bagan and Harris all did okay. Ng was awful and was at fault for at least two of the goals and generally looked out of his depth.

Bowen and Pack were always going to struggle and Watkins looks a third tier player.

Giles is a class apart, but this was a strange lineup for the last but one friendly.

it was hard to judge him tbh quite tenacious in the 1st half when the whole team were pressing but the 2nd half they ripped us apart and we were chasing shadows

Ng had Covid so hopefully that explains a poor performance. He acclimatised so well last season it would be disappointing if he didn't hold his own this season.
