Back to the cider, today I'm syphoning it into clean demijohns where it'll sit for another month or so, clearing it out, before being ready to bottle. Hopefully.

Deinitely starting to smell like cider.
I thought you had some chips in a container there. On closer inspection it was a rubber glove.

Have any other readers ever mistaken household cleaning items for food products?

I have no idea what I am going to do with all this chillis but for starters I am going to make some mango and pineapple hot sauce.

First batch done.

I've got 4 pineapples and 4 mangos so I can do another 3 lots of this, I might put progressively more chillis in each one as I've still got about 99.5% of my chillis left :hehe:

I also need to work out what to put it all in. This is the only nice looking bottle I've got, I have a few other smaller ones but they're best for smoother sauces. Will cross that bridge when I come to it...

What sort of shelf life will the chilli's have once picked?

I am going to need to do something with them over the course of the next week or two I expect.

Normally I make a few varieties of sauce and give most of it away

I am going to dry some chillis as they last more or less forever then
