Best / Worst away days

Agree with scunthorpe away and the whole of that season there were some tremendous away followings with nearly 4000 at southend on a Friday night. Worst for me travelling to Carlisle on a tuesday for a night game for it to be called off an hour before kick off.
A last minute postponement is infuriating. At least if it's early-ish you can change plans

I’m not a prolific away fan, but done my fair share of travelling around the country supporting the City like I’m sure many on here have.

What’s your favourite and worst ever away trip with the mighty Bluebirds?

My favourite, after all these years is still Scunthorpe in 93. Depending on who you believe there were anywhere between 4 and 6000 of us up there, taking up three sides of the ground and making it to all intents a home game. The motorway and services just seemed to be a sea of blue and people doing ayatollahs out of thier windows, and when we got up there we sang from the first minute to the last. What a day out. And that was just a couple of weeks after another memorable trip up to Wrexham. What a way to end my first proper season supporting the city.

I don’t have any really bad ones, never had my head kicked in or anything so my worst is quite mediocre, a trip to Charlton for a 0-0 draw under Russel Slade on a bitterly cold day in February. One of those games when question your sanity.
Between 4 or 6 thou.

Kinell that’s about a 5,996 ish miscount

Bradford 94. Shite hole.

Great day out for us.

Best (and worst) for me was my first trip to the vetch. Would have been about 15 so late 80s. Went on a bus with my older brother. My mam let me go because him and all the older kids could look after me (obviously she had no idea they were mostly headcases). Had the windows put through which resulted in our lot ripping the seats out and lobbing them at the gyppos. Not that I saw much of it because I was on the floor shitting myself.

Naturally by the time I got back and told my mates I was pretty much part of the soul crew….:hehe:

Did we win?

York away when Leo bagged a hattrick was special, my first promotion. Recent years Hull away when Morrison scored and Reading this season was a perfect away game.
